The National Alliance Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year Nominations for Oregon and Washington

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Many insurance professionals know the glue that holds many agencies together is a good customer service representative. Every year the National Alliance honors one incredibly deserving CSR and it’s time to send in those nominations.

When we say time, we mean time in an urgent sense. The deadline for entries, including essays, to arrive at National Alliance headquarters in Austin, Texas is May 1st and must be submitted to Pam Busch at pambusch@piawest.com prior to that date.

Applicants must submit the following materials:

  A completed nomination form

  A completed entry form

1 to 3 letters of recommendation

A 1000-word essay penned by the nominee

Again, the applications are due on May 1st so you need to get moving.

This year’s essay topic is: “In today’s business environment, CSRs are finding that more work is required from a smaller staff pool. As a CSR, what four (4) ways have you found beneficial in helping you accomplish work tasks while still providing excellent customer service? In short, doing more with less”.

The Outstanding CSR of the Year® Award recognizes exceptional professionals and is one of the greatest professional honors a CSR, CSA, or Account Manager can receive. Do you know someone who deserves a nomination? If you don’t know of one in your office, then you must know of one in someone else’s office.

Nominate that person by May 1st. Each state winner will automatically be entered into the national competition. The national winner will receive $2,000 and the 2018 National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award! If the person you nominate receives the award, you get $1,000!

PIA Western Alliance Director of Education Pam Busch said CSRs compete for state awards first and then for the top award from the National Alliance. She noted, “We have had a ‘state winner’ in Washington and Oregon at least for the years that I have been Director of Education (14 + years). We have had one person from each state go on to become the national winner.”

The first was in 1997 when Oregon’s Brigitte Dimmitt, CIC, CISR took home the National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award. She said, “The CSR of the year award is a great opportunity for CSRs to receive recognition for their knowledge, hard work and expertise in personal insurance. This achievement recognizes the importance of CSRs role in the success and profitability of the insurance agency.”

In 2007 Sharnel DiVona, CIC, CPCU, AIS, CRM, CRIS of Washington won the award. She said, “Receiving the Outstanding CSR of the Year award immediately boosted my self-confidence in both my professional endeavors as well as in my personal life. It bolstered respect and awareness from my colleagues, my family, my employer and my clients. Even years later, the acknowledgement from this award motivates me to excel in my position and give 110%”

The national winner receives a $2,000 cash award, a gold and diamond pin, and a framed certificate of recognition. National finalists win $500 and a gold and garnet pin.

Nominate the national winner, and you will receive $1,000!
